FEATURES:
- Half circle design has longer sides for more directional control than our D-Ring circle bits;
- A great bit for youngsters to go to after starting in an FM bit or for horses that just need a bit more lateral steering, or for horses that evade by opening their mouths;
- The HP Relief Lozenge is anatomically designed for both comfort and communication and it helps to develop a true contact and higher level of responsiveness.
- The Lozenge centre eliminates the harsh nutcracker action;
- Ergonomically designed curve for improved fit and comfort to the horse;
- Smaller diameter metal to ensure maximum comfort to the horses tongue and palette, and enable the horse to seal its mouth and swallow;
- The HP Lozenge is ideal horses with thick tongues and low palates that simply don’t have room in their mouths for any bit wider than 12mm. Unfortunately, nearly all bits start at 14mm diameter and are too thick for them.
- Promote a softer more consistent contact, encouraging the horse to soften through the jaw relaxing and lengthening the neck.;
- The design also stops the rings from completely opening outwards or inwards, adding stablility and less play than a regular loose ring.
Currently available in sizes 4" to 6" only.
Sides: Small = 55x60mm; Standard = 60x75mm.
Our 4.75" bits have the option of small or standard sized sides, so if you have a big horse with a narrow mouth or a pony with a wide mouth you can have the appropriate sized side to suit.

IMPORTANT FITTING INFORMATION:
The HP Barrel bits fit a little larger than the regular single or double jointed bits due to the mouth shaping. Measure the horses mouth yourself (using rope or twine in the mouth where the bit goes, thumbs FLUSH on each side, measure between your thumbs), PLEASE don't go on the size of your existing bit. Then go down 1/4" or down to the nearest size. These bits are designed to fit slightly lower in the mouth and have approx 1cm of arm outside the mouth—if you can see the elbow of the arm, it is too large.
