Are the tree sizes the same as other brands?
No, the HP Swinging Fender Saddle has been developed by John to his own requirements based on his extensive experience with many different horses.
How do I know which tree is best for my horse?
One of four tree sizes is chosen from specific images provided by you and in consultation with Mr HP.
Why is the wither trace taken from the top of the wither rather than just behind the shoulder?
This is so the the leather work in front of the tree will be shaped correctly to ensure your horses shoulder can move freely under the front of the saddle. It's vital that you take the measurement here and not behind the shoulder.
What is the correct way to measure my inner leg length?
From the very top right down to the bottom of your heel.
How do I know what size saddle to order?
The size of your saddle depends on your measurements. When you order your saddle you're asked for your leg, thigh, and yes, your bum measurements so that you can make the best choice for size. The HP Saddle won't be the same as other brands so it's important to do this step.
Does the saddle provide a 'close contact' feel unlike many traditional stock saddles?
Yes, but it's the position it puts you in that really makes the difference.
If I want different leather or colours for different sections can I do that?
Yes, you can make each part what you'd like it to be (within reason!).
Do I have to have a crupper attachment?
Yes, it's built into our trees!
When my saddle first arrives, will it need breaking in?
Your new saddle needs to settle into your horses shape, it will get better and better as you ride!
